In 1939, right before the start of the second world war, Albert Einstein notified president Roosevelt with an idea of
creating a nuclear bomb. Einstein, along with Robert Oppenheimer and other scientists, joined with the U.S.
gov't to begin what was known as "The Manhatan Project". over 2 billion dollars was invested into "The
Manhattan project", or into the effort in creating The"Atomic Bomb"; a.k.a "The Gadget". Creating the"Atomic
Bomb" also created anxieties that paralleled. By dealing with atomic science, people felt worries of "utter terror" towards
human race. People were feeling as if science moved to fast, makng connections between science and total destruction. Loss
of control and Fragmentation were the two biggest worries; they were both tied together and were symbolized by the atom bomb
as one and were thought of as an ultimate result. There were questions of whether or not everyday activities would have
still been possible if the bomb were dropped. The answer being yes, still left a great deal of fear in human society. There
were fears that the things that had been whole in peoples lives would be split, uncontrollably. After the monster was created
and tested, some of the participants signed a petition to destroy the atomic explosion they created. The petition
did not succeed and as many people know, "The Atom Bomb" was used twice in the history of war. The "A -Bomb" was
first used against Hiroshma and the second time against Nagasaki.
